The Gokyo Ri Songs in the Guinness Book of World Records

The brothers’ song ‘Gokyo Ri‘ has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. Songwriter Milan Kiranti and sister Babina Kiranti’s Nepali language song ‘Gokyo Ri’ has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the song and video recorded at the world’s highest altitude (4813 meters). They are the children of senior poet Jasraj Kirati.

The audio recording and video of the song was filmed by singing live with live instruments in the Gokyo Lake area in Solukhumbu. Gokyo Lake is one of the best tourist destinations in Nepal along with a historical religious site. From where 4 mountains of more than 8000 in the world can be seen from one place. Gokyo Lake is also listed in the World Wetlands Area.

Lyricist Kiranti’s words are given in the melodious voice of popular singer Vavina Kiranti in the music of composer Bikram Rai. The video has also been made public through singer Kirati’s YouTube channel. The song was recorded by recordist Chhiring Bhote.
